Listed from the author's README. GameSkill has not run this end to end yet. Agent support and install steps are as documented by the author.

Install

Mac (Apple Silicon) or Linux
curl -fsSL https://assetfurnace.com/install.sh | bash

Installs the code and Python 3.11, then opens the studio. It downloads no model weights; you pick them in Setup & Status. Read install.sh before running it.

Windows (limited testing)
irm https://assetfurnace.com/install.ps1 | iex
Connect Claude Code
claude mcp add assetfurnace -- ~/image-to-3dlab/lab mcp

Codex: codex mcp add assetfurnace -- ~/image-to-3dlab/lab mcp. Use your own folder if you installed elsewhere. Agent setup: Mac and Linux; Windows is not tested yet.

Commands are copied from the project's README. Check the repository before running anything on your machine.

What you get

  • Pixal3D, TRELLIS.2, Hunyuan3D and Stable Fast 3D behind one studio and one CLI
  • Auto-rig with SkinTokens and 21 animation presets (walk, run, jump, dance, kicks), exported as GLB
  • Text-to-image with Qwen-Image 2.1, so you can start from a sentence
  • Finish: compresses heavy models to game size; Pixel Match keeps text and logos sharp at ~5k faces
  • Prop sheets: one picture of a grid becomes nine separate props with three LODs each
  • A licence record for every generated file

Good fit

  • Indie devs who want rigged characters and props without cloud credits
  • Letting an agent generate, check and retry 3D assets locally

Not for

  • Shipping without reading model licences: several backends use the Tencent Community, Stability AI Community or DINOv3 licences
  • Non-humanoid rigging: the auto-rig targets humanoids

Overview

AssetFurnace, formerly Image to 3D Lab, runs the full asset pipeline on your own machine. It can make a picture from a sentence, build a 3D model from it, clean the model up for games, fit a skeleton and add a move. Nothing is uploaded, and every file records the licences behind it.

For agents, it is an MCP server. After claude mcp add, you can ask for "a Pixar-style gator warrior" and the agent will start the run, check on it, look at the result and try another setting. Pixal3D (MIT code and flow weights) is the backend the authors recommend. TRELLIS.2 and Hunyuan3D are also available but need large downloads, and Hunyuan3D-2.1 needs 24 GB+ NVIDIA cards.

Requirements

  • An Apple Silicon Mac, or a Linux PC with NVIDIA or AMD (ROCm) GPU
  • Disk space for model weights (for example 8.4 GB for Pixal3D, ~15 GB for TRELLIS.2)
