Listed from the author's README. GameSkill has not run this end to end yet. Agent support and install steps are as documented by the author.

Install

1. Add the add-on to your project
your-project/addons/godot_ai/

Download a published version from GitHub Releases and follow its verification steps. Do not copy a source snapshot over an existing install.

2. Enable the plugin in Godot
Project → Project Settings → Plugins → Godot AI

The plugin starts the MCP server and shows the connection status in the Godot AI dock.

Commands are copied from the project's README. Check the repository before running anything on your machine.

What you get

  • 46 tools and 120+ operations: scenes, nodes, scripts, signals, UI, materials, animation, particles, cameras
  • GDScript written by the tools is parse-validated and hot-reloaded
  • One-click updates from the editor dock

Good fit

  • Building real scenes and UI inside the open Godot editor
  • GDScript projects

Not for

  • Full C# workflows: .cs files are text-only, and Godot AI does not build .NET or report compiler errors

Overview

Godot AI is an editor plugin plus MCP server that gives an agent broad, structured control of the open Godot editor. GDScript is fully supported: scripts written through the tools are validated, hot-reloaded and attached.

The README includes a cyberpunk HUD demo that the author reports was built in about two hours without hand-written code. If you only need run-and-debug, Godot MCP is lighter.

Requirements

  • Godot 4.7+ (for Godot AI v4)
  • uv (provides uvx for the Python server)
  • An MCP client
