Install

Hermes Agent
hermes plugins install DECRUX9812/hermes-plugin-gameforge --enable
hermes gameforge demo

The demo builds, playtests and exports a complete game in about a minute.

Commands are copied from the project's README. Check the repository before running anything on your machine.

What you get

  • 10 skills: game-studio, playtesting, godot-dev, unity-dev, blender-pipeline, game-audio, pixel-art-pipeline, 3d-asset-pipeline, ship-it and game-reverse-engineering
  • forge_sfx (22 presets) and forge_music (seamless loop WAV + MIDI in chiptune, synthwave, ambient or orchestral)
  • forge_voice: NPC babble or TTS with character FX
  • forge_sprite and forge_tileset: 16×16 RPG sprites, sheets for Phaser/Godot, Wang-corner tilesets with Godot terrains
  • forge_model3d: 18 low-poly generators exported as .glb
  • forge_engine: HTML5 games in 4 genres, Godot 4 and Unity scaffolds, Blender and Unreal pipelines
  • forge_playtest: plays the build in headless Chrome or bot-plays Godot and writes an HTML report
  • forge_export: PWA, itch.io zip, single-file HTML, Capacitor Android/iOS

Good fit

  • Going from a game idea to a playable, exported prototype inside one agent
  • Automated playtesting: crashes, stuck spots, FPS and boring stretches
  • Placeholder audio, sprites and low-poly models without paid APIs

Not for

  • Claude Code, Codex or Cursor users: it is a Hermes Agent plugin
  • Production-quality art; the offline generators are procedural

Overview

GameForge plugs into Hermes Agent as a standard plugin and gives it a whole game studio: nine forge_* tools plus ten agent skills that teach the workflows, from game-studio (idea to shipped game) to ship-it (export and publish).

The headline feature is the playtester. Instead of only checking that a build starts, it plays it: it explores, fights, restarts after game over, and records exceptions with screenshots, FPS, input that does nothing, getting stuck and 20-second "event droughts". The result is an HTML report with a movement heatmap and a one-word verdict.

All generators work offline, so you can get sound effects, looping music, NPC voices, pixel sprites, tilesets and low-poly .glb models without any paid service, then switch on fal.ai, Meshy or ElevenLabs when you want higher quality.

Requirements

  • Hermes Agent
  • Optional: fal.ai, Meshy or ElevenLabs keys for AI upgrades (everything works offline without them)
  • Optional: Godot 4, Unity, Blender or Unreal for engine targets
