Game Decompilation Skill For Claude

Seven Claude Code skills for byte-matching decompilation of retro games: rebuild readable C/C++ function by function, diagnose why a function won't match, and run parallel matcher workers. No license is published, so see the repository for use.

Listed from the author's README. GameSkill has not run this end to end yet. Agent support and install steps are as documented by the author.

Install

Claude Code (project or user skills)
git clone https://github.com/lemiur/Game-Decompilation-Skill-For-Claude
cp -r Game-Decompilation-Skill-For-Claude/.claude/skills/* ~/.claude/skills/

Then run /orchestrator in a folder with your game files and an AGENTS.md describing your toolchain.

Commands are copied from the project's README. Check the repository before running anything on your machine.

What you get

  • 7 skills: orchestrator, matcher, wall-identifier, helper-recovery, permute, decomp-code-rules, native-platform-porting
  • Reference docs: an AGENTS.md project template, codegen levers, and a code-rule catalogue with a fakematch table

Good fit

  • PS1/N64/PS2-era matching decompilation projects
  • Porting a fully matched decomp to PC with native-platform-porting

Not for

  • Reuse without checking terms: the repository has no license file
  • Projects without a compiler and build setup; the skills don't provide one

Overview

A set of Claude Code skills for building a matching decompilation, where reconstructed C/C++ compiles back to the original game binary byte for byte. The skills describe the method only; each game repository plugs in its own commands through an AGENTS.md file. The author says PS1/PS2-era games are manageable, while PS3/360-era projects will still take months.

The repository has no license, so this page is only a summary. Read the skills and check the terms on GitHub.

Requirements

  • An existing matching-decomp toolchain: original compiler/linker, retail binary, split/build setup, diff tool
  • Optionally a decompiler, a permuter and objdiff
  • git (the orchestrator works in worktrees)
