Ludra

/make-2d-platformer-games

A 2D game engine built for AI agents: games are JSON, every error comes with a machine-readable fix, and the agent plays and tests its own game headlessly. Ships a Claude Code plugin and skill.

Install

Claude Code
/plugin marketplace add ersingvn/ludra
/plugin install ludra@ludra
npm
npm install -g @ludra/cli
ludra new my-game

Commands are copied from the project's README. Check the repository before running anything on your machine.

What you get

  • The ludra CLI: new, check, play, test, review, dev
  • ludra check: diagnostics with a JSON path and a concrete fix
  • ludra play: deterministic headless simulation with timeline, events, ASCII map and real screenshots
  • ludra test: deterministic tests such as won == true, deaths == 0
  • The make-2d-platformer-games skill and Claude Code plugin
  • Canvas 2D drawing, GLSL post-processing, TypeScript scripts, particles and sound

Good fit

  • Agents building 2D platformers, top-down adventures or breakout games end to end
  • Proving a game is winnable before a human plays it

Not for

  • 3D games (on the roadmap)
  • Production projects: the engine is early (v0.8)

About this skill

Ludra is an engine designed around how an agent works. Scenes are plain JSON entities, ludra check returns problems with the exact path and fix, ludra play simulates input sequences headlessly and prints a timeline and an ASCII view of the frame, and ludra test asserts outcomes like won == true. A game isn't done until check, test and ludra review are clean.

The agent still gets full creative power: the Canvas 2D API, GLSL shaders, any font and TypeScript for custom mechanics. The README's example builds a platformer with spikes, a moving platform and a stompable enemy, then proves it can be won with zero deaths.

It's new (v0.8, a handful of stars) but actively built, with 30 commits and published npm packages.

Requirements

  • Node.js 22.18 or newer
