What you get
- A router skill (pixijs) that loads the right sub-skill for the task
- Skills for Application, assets, scene graph, sprites, graphics, text, filters, blend modes, color, events and accessibility
- Custom rendering and performance optimization guidance for the v8 systems-and-pipes renderer
- A v7 to v8 migration skill and create-pixi scaffolding
Good fit
- 2D web games and interactive canvas apps built with PixiJS
- Stopping agents from writing outdated v7 PixiJS APIs
- WebGL/WebGPU sprite rendering with correct asset loading and cleanup
Not for
- Engine-level game logic such as physics or state machines (PixiJS is a renderer)
- 3D games: see the three.js skills
About this skill
PixiJS Skills is the PixiJS team's own set of agent skills for PixiJS v8, the 2D renderer for WebGL, WebGPU and Canvas. Models often mix v7 and v8 APIs (synchronous new Application() options, old loaders, removed graphics calls). These skills give the agent the current patterns for each part of the library, and a router skill picks the right one for the task.
What is covered
- Setup:
Applicationinit, resize, ticker, culling, destroy; project scaffolding withcreate-pixi. - Content:
Assets.load, bundles, manifests, spritesheets, fonts, video, SVG; sprites, graphics, text. - Look: filters, blend modes, color handling.
- Interaction: events and accessibility (screen reader and keyboard navigation).
- Under the hood: core render loop, custom rendering, performance optimization.
- Upgrades: v7 to v8 migration.
When to use it
Install it in any PixiJS game or 2D web project before asking an agent for rendering code. For general game dev patterns on top of PixiJS, pair it with the PixiJS entries in awesome-gamedev-agent-skills.
