Effekseer VFX (game effects as code, checked in a real Godot render)
/effekseer-vfx
Two agent skills from KanaWorks_AI: effekseer-vfx writes game effects (hits, slashes, projectiles, explosions, beams, shields) as Python recipes, compiles them with the official EffekseerCore and reviews them as filmstrips rendered in Godot; vfx-review is the independent reviewer that scores them. Video-model flipbooks and Unity URP element skills are optional routes.

Tested by GameSkill
29/29 checks passed on effekseer-vfx CLI on Linux x64: EffekseerCore 1.80.7 on .NET 9 + Godot 4.7.2 (official Effekseer plugin) (2026-11-03): trigger, a runnable example, a screenshot and self-check, one job per skill, and English + Chinese docs. Trigger checks match prompts against skill descriptions; they are not a live agent run.
Test reportWhat this skill does
When it triggers
Author real-time game VFX as code for the Effekseer engine and verify them in a real Godot render, and turn image-to-video clips into flipbook skills for Effekseer/Godot or Unity (URP). …

Self-check
- 先跑 vfx doctor,按它的 next 做;下载前先问用户 / Run vfx doctor first and follow its next steps; ask the user before the download
- 动手前读 craft、design、layering、timing、skeletons 五篇 / Read craft, design, layering, timing and skeletons before writing
- lint 没有 error, build 成功 / lint has no errors and build succeeds
- 每一轮都打开 review 返回的图片亲眼看,一轮只改一类问题 / Open every image the review returns each round; fix one class of problem per round
- 评分交给没看过 recipe 的另一个 agent(vfx-review),作者不给自己打分 / Scoring goes to a separate agent with vfx-review; the author never scores its own effect
- 没有 build 和 render 时,明确说「未编译、未渲染验证」 / Without build and render, say plainly the effect is not compiled and not render-verified

rm /tmp/gameskill-effekseer-vfx.zipWhat you get
- effekseer-vfx: brief, textures, Python recipe, EffekseerCore build, Godot filmstrip, fix one thing per round
- vfx-review: a separate reviewer skill that scores an effect from its images and a rubric
- 16 finished, reviewed example effects (hit, slash, charge, shield, heal, fire/ice/poison/dark pairs, kaiju set)
- Optional video-flipbook route and a Unity URP element-skill package
Good fit
- Hit, slash, projectile, explosion, beam, charge, shield or heal effects for a Godot game
- Iterating on an effect by looking at real rendered frames instead of guessing
Not for
- The KanaWorks 90-effect asset pack: its images use a separate, non-open-source licence (see the FAQ)
- Pixel-art effects: use pixelfx

Make a lantern pop hit effect for my Godot game with Effekseer: a warm swell, a quick flash, a ring and embers that drift down, then review it as a filmstrip.About this skill
effekseer-vfx, from KanaWorks_AI, has an agent write real-time game effects the way a VFX artist works: a brief with beats and a layer plan, a Python recipe, an EffekseerCore build to a runtime .efk, and a filmstrip rendered in Godot that the agent has to open and look at before it changes one thing. Scoring is someone else's job: the pack's second skill, vfx-review, hands the images and a rubric to a separate agent that never saw the recipe. It ships 16 reviewed example effects to learn from, plus optional routes for video-model flipbooks and Unity URP element skills.
GameSkill hosts both skills as one tested pack. The author's setup builds and renders on macOS ARM64 and Windows; we added linux-setup.sh, which fetches the same Effekseer release and Microsoft's Linux .NET 9 runtime, so Linux gets the full loop too. Our example is an original effect, a lantern pop, taken through four fix rounds until lint and the render review came back clean, then built and reviewed again on a fresh project next to the author's heavy hit and fire set.
The KanaWorks 90-effect asset pack is a separate download under a non-open-source asset licence; it is not part of this page.

Requirements
- Python 3.11+ or uv (setup creates its own venv with numpy, Pillow, jsonschema, pythonnet)
- Godot 4.x for the filmstrip review; ffmpeg for the video-flipbook route
- Build and render: macOS ARM64 or Windows x64 with the author's setup; Linux x64 with our tested linux-setup.sh
- First setup downloads about 250 MB (Effekseer 1.80.7, .NET 9, the Effekseer Godot plugin), all checksum-pinned; ask before downloading

Skills the author points to as related or as the better fit for neighbouring tasks.
pixelfx
244 pixel-art effects written as code (fire, explosions, magic, weather, UI, pickups, critters) plus a draft, render, look, refine loop for making new ones; every effect exports a sprite sheet with Aseprite-style JSON for Godot, Unity, Phaser or any engine.
Game Feel & Juice
Add juice to actions: screen shake, hit-stop, eased motion, squash and stretch, knockback and layered audio-visual feedback.
Godot Shaders
Godot 4.7 shaders for 2D and 3D: vertex and fragment code, uniforms, TIME and UV animation, and screen-reading effects.

open-game-skills
An MIT pack of about 190 SKILL.md agent skills for game design: combat feel, camera, traversal, world, validation, 2D/Spine and art pipeline, with a dispatcher and adapters for Three.js, PixiJS, Phaser, Cocos, Godot, Unity and Unreal.
Style Cards (one art style as hard limits, switch looks by switching cards)
A GameSkill original that writes a game's art style down as a card of measurable limits (canvas, colours and palette, alpha, triangles, shading, materials, textures, voxel grid), pastes it into every asset request and checks every asset against it. Ships 12 cards from pixel and one-bit to low-poly, voxel and toon, a no-dependency PNG checker, a Blender GLB checker and a palette locker; switch the whole look by switching the card.
GladeKit MCP (Unity + Godot)
One MCP server for Unity and Godot editors: 275 Unity tools, 115 Godot tools, gameplay scaffolders, screenshot checks and GLADE.md project context.
Codixel
A pixel-art skill built on one idea: the agent writes code, it is not a painter. It asks for a reference image, then removes the background, pixelates, rigs with bones and animates it in code with a 2,000-line toolkit (core/pixel.js), showing every step on a sheet before making game files.
